The IP Company at European Defense Fund Info Days 2023

I am pleased to share that The IP Company last week had the privilege of participating in the prestigious European Defense Fund (EDF) Info Days 2023. This exclusive event, organized by the European Commission, aimed to engage potential applicants like us for the upcoming EDF 2023 calls for proposals.

As you may know, the EDF has allocated a remarkable €8 billion over 2021-2027 to foster Defense research and development across various operational and technological domains, such as land, sea, air, space, cyber, information, energy, materials, CBRN, and more. The recently published EDF Work Program 2023, on March 30th, serves as the guiding document for the funding initiatives.

At The IP Company, we eagerly delved into the Call for EDF development actions, specifically dedicated to SMEs and implemented through lump sum grants (EDF-2023-LS-DA-SME). This particular call focuses on empowering innovative SMEs to transform cutting-edge technologies and research outcomes into Defense products, efficiently and cost-effectively. It encourages the adaptation of technologies from civil applications and addresses the challenges posed by hybrid warfare.

In line with the EDF’s objectives, we aim to address the development of innovative Defense products, solutions, and technologies that enhance the readiness, deployability, reliability, safety, and sustainability of Defense forces in their various tasks and missions.

Drawing on our collaboration with Voclarion, a leader in providing solutions for hospitals and elder care in the civil market for several years, we believe that the current EDF call presents a unique opportunity for us to adapt our existing care products for Defense purposes through focused development efforts.

Our vision is to leverage this opportunity to create a robust health monitoring system for soldiers, ensuring precise situational awareness during damage control situations. This will be achieved through the development of an on-premise track and trace BLE solution, enabling real-time positioning and monitoring of soldiers in critical scenarios.

We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead as we embark on this transformative journey. The IP Company share a common commitment to innovation, quality, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Together, we are confident in our ability to deliver groundbreaking solutions that bridge the gap between civil applications and Defense requirements.

Stay tuned for further updates on our progress in the EDF 2023 calls for proposals and our path-breaking developments in Defense technology. We are pleased to be at the forefront of shaping the future of Defense through innovation and collaboration.
