Royal Navy Masterclass

Last week, the IP Company had the privilege of attending the Royal Navy Masterclass in Den Helder. Over two days, we explored the Royal Dutch Navy and its key departments for potential industry collaboration.

The event began with an introduction by the NIDV, followed by a presentation from the Ministry of Defense in The Hague. They discussed Defense organization and plans for the next 2 to 15 years, highlighting climate change and migration as significant threats.

COMMIT provided an overview of the Navy’s structure, roles, objectives, resources, and development plans. Paul Flos, Program Director International Naval Materiel Cooperation at the Ministry of Defense, shared insights into Maritime Systems, New Construction, and International Cooperation.

In addition to the informative sessions, we enjoyed a great meal at the officers’ mess on the first evening and visited the Joint support ship Karel Doorman and ship maintenance docks on the second day.

The Masterclass also offered valuable networking opportunities. Overall, it was an enriching experience that deepened our understanding of the Royal Navy.
