We developed the WCMS communication system which enables voice and messaging communication between crew members, both in the administrative and operational domains. The system is one integrated system, which connects regular desk phones as well as wireless handheld devices. It is the result of combining vision and intelligence with over 20 years of experience.

The IP Company is een toonaangevend bedrijf op het gebied van draadloze communicatie- en berichtensystemen (WCMS) aan boord van schepen. We hebben het WCMS-communicatiesysteem ontwikkeld dat spraak- en berichtcommunicatie tussen bemanningsleden mogelijk maakt, zowel op administratief als op operationeel gebied. Job Description

The IP Company developes internal communication systems. These are also used in a maritime environment. We use specially modified mobile phones and tablets as well as fixed phones. These fixed telephones are not specially designed for the marine environment. The way in which the receiver is placed on the telephone is not always resistant to the rolling and pitching of a ship. We have therefore adapted a number of devices. However, this adjustment is no longer sufficient. We are therefore looking for an intern to design a new adaptation, for example based on 3D printing.

Language

Most communications will be done in Dutch, reporting preferably in English, although Dutch is also an option

Responsibilities

The internship assignment covers the entire process.
– Mapping the specific requirements that the solution must meet
– Suggest possible solutions
– Design one or maybe two solutions
– Implementing the solution and preparing it for production of a small series

Qualifications

We expect the intern to have sufficient technical knowledge to fulfil the assignment. In addition we anticipate that more than average communication skills and self starting capabilities are essential

The IP Company ontwikkelt interne communicatiesystemen. Deze worden ook gebruikt in een maritieme omgeving. We gebruiken speciaal aangepaste mobiele telefoons en tablets, maar ook vaste telefoons. Deze vaste telefoons zijn niet speciaal ontworpen voor de maritieme omgeving. De manier waarop de hoorn op de telefoon wordt geplaatst, is niet altijd bestand tegen het rollen en stampen van een schip. We hebben daarom een ​​aantal toestellen aangepast. Deze aanpassing is echter niet langer voldoende. We zijn daarom op zoek naar een stagiair om een ​​nieuwe aanpassing te ontwerpen, bijvoorbeeld op basis van 3D-printen.

Language

De meeste communicatie zal in het Nederlands plaatsvinden, rapportage bij voorkeur in het Engels, hoewel Nederlands ook een optie is.

Responsibilities

De stageopdracht omvat het hele traject.

– In kaart brengen van de specifieke eisen waaraan de oplossing moet voldoen

– Stel mogelijke oplossingen voor

– Ontwerp een of misschien twee oplossingen

– Implementeren van de oplossing en voorbereiden voor productie van een kleine serie

Kwalificaties

Naast de technische kennis nodig om de opdracht tot een goed einde te brengen verwachten we van de stagiair een ruime mate van zelfstandigheid en bovengemiddelde communicatievaardigheden
